A continuous pressure decatizing machine is a dry-finishing machine that sets woven and knitted fabric with saturated steam inside a pressurised vessel, reaching a setting depth atmospheric continuous decatizing cannot match without giving up continuous-line throughput. QL's WPF-LXZN-P sits at the end of the dry-finishing line, the pressurised option among the four ways to decatize.
Where this machine sits in the line, and what comes before and after
The continuous pressure decatizing machine follows steam pre-shrinking — either the chain-type steam pre-shrinking machine (WPF-LTYS) or the net-belt steam pre-shrinking machine (WPF-WDYS) stabilises the fabric's dimensions first. This machine then takes over for the deeper setting and hands off to final relaxation steaming, inspection, and rolling.
Decatizing is a choice of four methods: discontinuous (WPF-JXZN-MAX), continuous (WPF-LXZN), continuous pressure (WPF-LXZN-P, this machine), or kier — chosen by throughput and setting depth required. This machine can also run as high-speed pre-treatment before kier decatizing, or as final treatment after it.
What it changes in the fabric, top or yarn: handle, dimensional stability, lustre, cleanliness
Saturated steam inside the pressurised vessel acts on the fabric directly, so hand, appearance, and dimensional stability are set in the same pass: a lasting, natural lustre, brighter colour, a crisp body that stays firm without turning stiff, better drape, and stronger crease recovery. Residual steam and pressure-differential condensate are cleared as the fabric leaves, and twin heating plates outside the steaming tank block condensation on the vessel's inner wall, so there are no localised water marks or shade spots. Woven-and-knitted tension control covers both fabric types, and elastane-bearing knit stretch fabrics go through without curling at the edge or uneven treatment.
Why this machine is necessary: what happens without it, or with another method
Decatizing is the last setting step in the dry-finishing line, and its effect is meant to hold through garment making. Light-set, high-throughput atmospheric continuous decatizing covers most regular qualities, but heavy, high-density wool and wool-blend fabrics call for a deeper set — a discontinuous method reaches that depth, but throughput is limited to batch-by-batch processing, which does not match a continuous line's pace.
This machine raises the vessel pressure to 0–3 bar, and the range of qualities it can set reaches well beyond atmospheric continuous decatizing: from lightweight fabrics to heavy, high-mass constructions, from pure wool to every class of blend, all thoroughly set in a single pass. Continuous-line throughput is not sacrificed in the process.
Setting the parameters: temperature, tension, speed, time
Vessel steam pressure is infinitely adjustable from 0 to 3 bar, corresponding to a saturated steam temperature inside the vessel of roughly 100–144°C. Mechanical and working speed both run 4–40 m/min, and drum pressure, steaming-tank pressure, steaming-tank steam pressure, felt-belt tension and air-cushion pressure are each set independently, with woven and knitted fabrics tensioned separately throughout. Continuous equipment carries no separate time setting — steam dwell time is a function of line speed, so slowing the speed lengthens dwell time accordingly.
There is no fixed setting for how these combine — pressure, speed and tension are worked out by trial on each fabric quality; ask QL for the process data sheet.
The questions customers ask most
- How do I choose between atmospheric continuous decatizing and pressure continuous decatizing (WPF-LXZN-P)?
- Can the autoclave/KD decatizing step be skipped and replaced with a continuous decatizing machine?
- For knit stretch fabric with spandex, how does continuous pressure decatizing avoid edge curling and uneven processing?
- Does pressure continuous decatizing risk shade variation across the width or batch-to-batch inconsistency?
- Atmospheric continuous decatizing does not set deep enough for heavy or high-density fabrics — what do I do?
- Does continuous pressure decatizing leak, wear out seals quickly, or cost more to maintain?
