Key advantages
- Four independent processing channels — 4 fabric slots, 4 milling rollers, 4 milling chambers, 4 pressure plates
- Stainless-steel channel separators — preventing fabric entanglement, ensuring continuous and uniform recirculation; allowing fabrics of different colour and weight to be processed in parallel
- Independent, fully automatic slot adjustment — each channel's fabric slot set individually, with no manual intervention
- Crescent-shaped guide plates — 6 pairs between each roller pair, precisely interfacing with the milling-chamber pressure plate and base edge to prevent static-induced entanglement, fabric tearing, and perforation

QL High-Efficiency Scouring System
- Constant-pressure feed — a constant-pressure pump pressurises cold water before delivery to the heat-exchange unit
- Fan-atomising spray — specialised fan-atomising nozzles distribute the heated water as a uniform mist across the fabric surface
- High-efficiency operation — versus conventional systems, 40% less water consumed, 50% shorter cycle time
- Intelligent dosing system — dosing volumes controlled automatically, one-touch switching between scouring and milling auxiliaries, auxiliary consumption reduced by 50%
Product overview
The WPF-4XS represents a new generation of the four-channel independent milling and scouring platform. Engineered with channel-by-channel control, the machine consolidates precision milling, scouring, and high-speed scouring (light milling) into a single integrated platform. Stainless-steel separators isolate each of the four channels — four fabrics differing in colour and weight can be processed simultaneously, free of entanglement.
Engineered for the multi-product mill: light worsted and heavy carded fabrics processed in parallel on the same machine.

Key specifications
| WPF-4XS-R · rubber roller | WPF-4XS-W · solid wood roller | |
|---|---|---|
| Operating modes | Precision milling / Scouring / High-speed scouring (light milling) | |
| Number of channels | 4 (independently controlled) | |
| Fabric speed | 0 – 400 m/min | 0 – 250 m/min |
| Fabric slot width | 40 – 180 mm | 40 – 220 mm |
| Loading capacity | 200 kg / channel · 800 kg total (dry) | |
| Chemical dosing tanks | 520 L + 310 L | |
| Installed power | 80 kW | |
| Dimensions (H × W × L) | 3,340 × 4,242 × 5,113 mm | |
| Weight | ≈ 9.5 T | |
Note on configuration differences: the wood roller configuration is engineered for heavy carded fabrics — the lower fabric speed matches the torque and compression dwell required for heavyweight constructions; the wider fabric-slot range (up to 220 mm) accommodates their greater volumetric profile. All other parameters are identical between the two configurations.
Optional features
- 12-segment grooved milling rollers
- Steam proportional valve with indirect heating — direct heating standard; indirect heating delivers more uniform temperature, lower noise and vibration, and faster heat-up
- Speed-detection system with single-channel auto-stop — individual milling-rate targets per channel; channels reaching their target stop automatically while the others continue

Real questions from the mill floor — and how we answer them.
What information should I send QL to obtain a scouring and fulling equipment proposal?
Send the fabric composition, weight and width, usual lot sizes, colour and product mix, target output, existing upstream and downstream machines, and installation-space information.
How should I compare the investment and operating costs of separate scouring and fulling machines with a WPF-4XS combined system?
Compare both layouts using the same fabrics, required output and acceptable finished quality. Review equipment, installation and handling arrangements, then water, steam, electricity, chemicals, labour, changeover cleaning and maintenance.
What should I confirm with QL when buying scouring and fulling equipment for frequent colour or recipe changes?
Confirm which parameters can be set independently, together with the liquor supply and drainage, heating, dosing and changeover-cleaning arrangements. Independent settings alone do not establish fully isolated liquor circuits.
For sampling and small, frequently changing lots in a wool mill, should I choose the single-channel WPF-1XS or the four-channel WPF-4XS scouring and milling machine?
For sampling and small, changing lots, choose the single-channel WPF-1XS; the four-channel WPF-4XS is for volume production where different colours and weights run at the same time.
What is scouring in wool and textile finishing, and how is the process done?
Scouring is the wet-finishing step that removes impurities left on greige fabric — spinning lubricant, sizing agent, machine-oil stains and the like — and it is a different stage from raw-wool scouring, which removes…
How should scouring and milling be arranged — separate machines (mill then scour), a combined scour-and-mill machine, or mill then open-width scour?
All three set-ups are valid, and the choice depends on the process goal.
Can heavy woollens and light worsteds run on the same machine?
Yes — one WPF-4XS scouring-and-milling machine runs both, with no need to set up separate lines.
Do scouring and milling really need separate machines, or is one enough?
One machine covers three modes — precision wool milling, scouring, and high-speed scouring (light milling) — switched on the touchscreen, so the fabric does not have to be moved between machines.
What can the WPF-4XS do for your line?
Tell us your fabric, weight and output — we will come back with a process proposal and a quotation.
